Websites for tradies built to win the quote

Websites for tradies across Australia: quick on a phone, clear about where you work, and built to turn a 30-second look into a quote request.

Tradie website design for customers searching on their phone

Rock Solid Marketing designs websites for tradies across Australia from our Mildura office. Your next customer is probably standing in a flooded laundry or a dark kitchen when they look you up, phone in hand. They want three answers fast: do you do this job, do you come to their suburb, and how do they reach you?

So every site we build puts your number, your service area and your licence details at the top of the screen. Each job type gets its own page. The quote form takes a photo of the problem and the address, which lets you price a small job before you drive anywhere.

Website packages start from $5,000 + GST, or 6 monthly payments of $833 + GST. The site is one part of our wider marketing for tradies, and every project starts with a free discovery call.

Common problems

What gets in the way, and how we fix it

  1. People tap through from Google, wait for the site to load on their phone, then give up and ring the next tradie.

    What we do

We build the site for phones first and keep every page light, with your number as a tap-to-call button that stays on screen.

  2. Our website has one page that says ‘all general services’, so it never shows up for the jobs we actually want.

    What we do

Each job you want more of gets its own page with photos from your jobs, the suburbs you cover and a quote button.

  3. Quote requests come in as ‘call me’, with no address, no photos and no idea what the job is.

    What we do

The quote form asks for the job type, the suburb and a photo or two, so you know whether it’s worth the drive before you ring back.

What goes on the site

Tradie web design, built for the small screen

Every page answers the questions a customer asks in the first few seconds, then makes it easy to call or ask for a quote.

Tap to call on every page

Your number sits at the top of every page as a button. Most people looking for a tradie are on a phone and want to ring now, not scroll through a home page.

A page for each job

Hot water systems, switchboards, decks or roof repairs each get a page with your own job photos and a quote button. Customers and Google both see exactly what you do.

Your service area, spelt out

We list the towns and suburbs you’ll travel to in plain words Google can read. A customer two towns over knows straight away whether you’ll come.

Licence and insurance up front

Your licence number, insurance and trade association memberships go where people look for them. Several states require the licence number in advertising, and you supply the details.

Photo upload on quote forms

The form asks for the job type, the suburb and a photo of the problem. You can price a dripping tap or a cracked tile from the ute instead of driving out to look.

Easy to update yourself

Standard and Advanced sites come with a WordPress user manual, so you can add new job photos, change your hours or update a price without ringing anyone.

Who it’s for

Is it the right fit?

Who it’s for

  • Sole traders whose only website is a Facebook page
  • Trade businesses with an old site that breaks on a phone
  • Multi-trade teams that need a page for each service
  • Tradies adding a new line of work and wanting it found
  • Businesses about to run Google Ads that need pages worth clicking to

Not a fit

  • You want a template site live this week with no input from you
  • You need an online store with hundreds of products (our E-commerce package suits that)
  • You’re booked out for the year and don’t want new enquiries

How it works

From the first call to launch day

Four stages, with your feedback built in before anything goes live.

  1. Discovery call

A free 30-minute call to scope your pages, features and budget against our website packages.

  2. Design and feedback

We design the site around your brand and content, with rounds of feedback along the way. Essentials includes three rounds.

  3. Build and launch

We build on a content management system you can update yourself, set up the search basics and test the site on phones and desktops.

  4. Hosting and care

Keep the site secure and up to date with Australian hosting from $400 + GST a year and a care plan from $275 + GST a month (minimum 6 months).

How it starts

Hiring a website designer for tradies: what happens first

We start with your phone, not a mood board. We search for your trade from the suburbs you work in. Then we open your current site or Facebook page on a mobile and try to ask for a quote, the way a customer would.

Next we agree the jobs you want more of and the towns you’ll drive to. Good websites for tradies are built around those two lists. You supply your logo, licence details and job photos, and we design the pages around them. If a tidy Google Business Profile would win you more work than a new site right now, we’ll tell you before we quote.

  • Your trade searched from your own suburbs
  • A test quote request on your current site
  • The job types and towns to build pages for
  • A page list and a fixed quote

Built around the jobs you want, not a template.

Gunning For You

Rock Solid Marketing designed the G4U brand and built the website for Gunning For You, a licensed firearms dealer in Encounter Bay SA, then ran its SEO and social media after the 2019 launch.

We approached Rock Solid Marketing to build our online store for our retail division and to look after our existing website. The professionalism of Sean and his team from day one was incredible, they took the time to sit down with us to discuss our exact requirements and they offered suggestions for the build which would improve the overall running of the store.

The finished result of our online store is nothing short of fantastic- it integrates with our point of sale software, it is very easy to navigate, and presents and operates as a professionally made web store should. Since completion and hand over, the back up support we receive from Rock Solid Marketing is remarkable- nothing is too much trouble and we can contact the team at any time with any questions we may have. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Sean, Janine and the team from Rock Solid Marketing for building or revamping a website, creating an online store to suit your business or with online marketing.

Why Your Business Needs A Website

There are so many things to consider when starting your own business. From accounting and tax matters to branding and marketing collateral, it’s hard to know what you really need and what isn’t so essential right away. Whatever you do, don’t hold off on building a website. This is something your business should have as

All FAQs

A tradie website with Rock Solid Marketing starts from $5,000 + GST on our Essentials package, or 6 monthly payments of $833 + GST. Essentials covers up to 5 pages, which suits a sole trader with a few core services. A multi-trade business that wants a page for every service usually needs Standard, from $6,500 + GST for 10 to 25 pages.

Most do, even the busy ones who live on word of mouth. A referred customer still looks you up before they ring. A Facebook page can’t show your licence, service area and past jobs the way a website for tradies can. If you’re booked out for months, a tidy Google Business Profile may be enough for now, and we’ll say so.

Book a free 30-minute discovery call and we’ll look at your current site or Facebook page together. Next you get a page list and a fixed quote. Once you approve it, you send your logo, licence details and job photos, and we design the pages. You review each round before launch (3 rounds on Essentials), mostly from your phone.

A tradie website should include tap-to-call, the jobs you do, the suburbs you cover, and your licence and insurance details. Add real photos from your jobs, a link to your Google reviews and a quote form that takes photos. Plenty of tradies’ websites hide the phone number in the footer or load a slow video first: both cost calls.

Use a platform you own and can move, which is why our Standard and Advanced sites run on WordPress with a user manual. Cheap DIY builders are quick to start but often tie you to one company’s hosting. Whatever you pick, register the domain in your business’s name: a .com.au address needs an ABN.

You do by default, because our packages assume you supply the business details, photos and content. Most tradies would rather be on the tools, so we can write the pages for you at $175 + GST an hour. Either way, you approve every page, and we keep the words plain: your trade’s terms, not marketing speak.

It’ll be built so Google can read it, but no honest designer can promise rankings. Every page gets a proper title, description and headings, and Standard adds SEO plug-ins. Ranking for busy searches across several towns takes ongoing SEO work, which starts from $1,000 + GST a month if you want it later.

You do. The domain is registered in your business’s name and the site is yours, with the first 12 months’ hosting included. After that you can keep hosting with us or move it elsewhere. A website care plan for updates and backups starts from $275 + GST a month (minimum 6 months).
