Law firms

Law firm marketing that plans around your practice areas

Rock Solid Marketing plans and runs law firm marketing for practices across Australia, from our head office in Mildura. Your firm probably sells four or five different services to four or five different kinds of client. A family law client finds you at 10pm after a hard week. A conveyancing client compares three quotes on a lunch break. One generic campaign speaks to neither of them.

So we split the plan by practice area: who the client is, what they search, which channel reaches them and what a matter is worth to the firm. Then one account manager runs it all on one message, so your website, your Google profile, your ads and your brochures say the same thing.

Partnership plans start from $4,500 + GST a month, and every plan starts with a free 30-minute discovery call.

Common problems

What gets in the way, and how we fix it

  1. Every practice area gets the same ad, so the family law budget ends up paying for conveyancing clicks.

    What we do

We set a budget and a message for each practice area and report on each one separately, so you can see which matters the marketing brings in.

  2. Clients can't tell your lawyers apart from the firm down the street.

    What we do

We put real people at the front: named lawyers, real photos and plain-English profiles. For Maloney Anderson we built a personal injury campaign around lawyer Nina Smart.

  3. The partners are too busy billing to approve marketing every week.

    What we do

Your account manager sends one batch of work to approve each month and meets you by phone or visit. Nothing goes live without your sign-off.

  4. An ad promises too much and leaves the firm exposed under the conduct rules.

    What we do

We write ads and pages that stay clear of outcome promises and misleading claims, and you check the final wording. Your firm stays responsible for its own compliance.

Services for law firms

Law firm digital marketing and the channels around it

Every channel a firm needs, run by one team on one message, with each practice area tracked on its own.

Search and your Google profile

SEO for each practice area page, plus a Google Business Profile kept current with hours, practice areas and reviews. If search is all you need, SEO plans start from $1,000 + GST a month.

Practice area pages that convert

A page for each practice area that answers the client's first question and shows the lawyer they'll deal with. The next step is a phone call or a short form.

Google Ads and Meta ads

Law firm advertising has rules most industries don't. We run paid search for urgent matters and Meta ads for awareness, track each one to the enquiry, and keep the wording clear of outcome promises.

TV, print and brochures

Traditional channels still matter for local firms. We scripted and produced Maloney Anderson's TV commercial and designed brochures for its partner networks. TV packages start from $11,500 + GST.

Press and referrers

Press releases and local media relations put your lawyers in front of the community, while an email newsletter keeps accountants and other referrers up to date. Press releases start from $1,000 + GST.

Reports by practice area

A HubSpot dashboard and a monthly meeting show enquiries by practice area, so the partners can move budget toward the matters the firm wants more of.

Who it’s for

Is it the right fit?

Who it’s for

  • Suburban and regional firms with three or more practice areas
  • Personal injury and compensation practices building a local name
  • Firms opening a new office or adding a practice area
  • Managing partners who want one agency instead of four suppliers

Not a fit

  • Firms that want promised case numbers or rankings
  • A firm that only needs search: a single SEO plan may suit you better
  • Firms that want marketing switched on for one week before a big trial

How it starts

Marketing for a law firm starts with the matter mix

Before any ad runs, we sit down with the partners and map the matter mix. That means the practice areas the firm wants more of, what a typical matter is worth, and where clients and referrals come from today.

Marketing law firms well means knowing that a probate client and a criminal client behave nothing alike. The marketing of law firms also runs under conduct rules most industries don't have, so we agree early on what the firm will and won't say.

You leave the strategy stage with a roadmap by practice area, whether we deliver it or your own team does.

  • Matter mix and value by practice area
  • Where enquiries and referrals come from today
  • Wording the firm will and won't use
  • Channel plan and monthly budget split
  • A roadmap you keep, whoever delivers it

Decide which matters you want, then market for them.

All FAQs

With Rock Solid Marketing, partnership plans start from $4,500 + GST a month for 28 hours of work. Standard is $5,500 + GST a month for 35 hours and Advanced is $7,500 + GST a month for 45 hours. Ad spend goes to Google or Meta on top. If a single SEO plan from $1,000 + GST a month will do the job, we'll tell you before we quote.

Search comes first for criminal lawyers, because most clients look for help the day they're charged or a family member is arrested. That means a fast mobile page for each type of charge, with the phone number at the top. Add a Google Business Profile with after-hours details if you take those calls, and Google Ads on urgent searches. Awareness campaigns matter less here.

Divorce and family law marketing works when it's patient and reassuring, because people research for weeks before they call. Plain-English guides on separation, property settlement and parenting arrangements answer the questions they're already asking. Retargeting ads and an email series keep the firm in mind while they decide, and every page should name the lawyer they'll actually meet.

Inbound marketing for a law practice runs in 5 steps: pick the practice areas, list client questions, publish answers, capture enquiries and follow up. In practice, your intake staff tell us the top questions for each area and we turn them into pages and articles. A short enquiry form feeds HubSpot so each enquiry is logged, and the monthly report shows which content brought in which matters.

Paid ads can bring enquiries as soon as they go live, while search rankings and content take longer to build. That's why most plans run both: Google Ads covers the gap while SEO grows. Maloney Anderson's campaign ran for 6 months, which gave TV, print and social time to back each other up. We report every month, and we don't promise case numbers.

Each plan covers strategy, production and reporting from one team. That includes SEO, Google Ads management, social media, content, email marketing, press releases, website management and a HubSpot dashboard. Hours set the pace: 28 a month on Starter, 35 on Standard and 45 on Advanced. You and your account manager decide where the hours go each month, so the busiest practice areas get more.

No. Our partnership plans have no lock-in contracts, so the firm can change plans or stop if the marketing isn't working. Before you sign with any law firm marketing firm, ask what happens to your ad accounts, website and content if you leave, and get the answer in writing. A good agency answers that question before you have to ask it.

You deal with one dedicated account manager, backed by the whole team. Behind them, Callen Mowatt runs Google Ads, Andrew Mevissen handles press and media, and our designers, copywriters and SEO strategist do the production. Consultations at our Mildura office by booking, and by phone for firms elsewhere in Australia.
