Google Ads for dentists that pay their way

Rock Solid Marketing runs Google Ads for dentists across Australia, with a separate campaign, landing page and budget for each treatment you want more of. Your current ads may send every click to the home page, whether the person searched for an emergency dentist at 10pm or for implants they’ve been researching for months.

Each treatment has its own patient, urgency and value, so we treat them separately. Every ad is written inside AHPRA’s rules for advertising a regulated health service. This page is part of our dental marketing work.

Partnership plans start from $4,500 + GST a month, and ad spend is paid straight to Google. If your Google Business Profile and reviews will bring more patients than ads right now, we’ll tell you before we quote.

Common problems

What gets in the way, and how we fix it

  1. Our implant ads and our check-up ads share one budget, so the cheap clicks win and the big cases never see us.

    What we do

Each treatment gets its own campaign and budget, so you decide how much goes to implants, aligners or new-patient check-ups.

  2. Every ad sends people to our home page, and they leave before they find what they searched for.

    What we do

Each campaign points to a page for that treatment, with the fees you choose to show, your health fund details and a booking button.

  3. We’re not sure our ads would pass AHPRA’s advertising rules.

    What we do

We write ads without patient testimonials, outcome promises or vague offers, and you approve every ad before it runs.

How we run it

Dental Google Ads built treatment by treatment

A search for an emergency dentist and a search for implants come from very different people, so they get different ads, pages and budgets.

Emergency ads after hours

Toothache doesn’t keep office hours. If you take emergency patients, we run call ads in the hours someone answers the phone, and switch them off when nobody can.

Budgets by treatment value

An implant case is worth far more than a clean, and its clicks usually cost more. Separate budgets stop cheap check-up clicks from using up the money meant for big cases.

A page for every campaign

Each campaign lands on a page about that treatment: what happens, who it suits, the fees you choose to show and how to book. Our web team builds or edits those pages.

Ad copy inside AHPRA rules

No patient testimonials, no promised results and no “specialist” unless the dentist holds specialist registration. Offers carry clear terms, as AHPRA’s advertising guidelines require.

Negatives that save money

We block searches from dental students, job seekers, DIY whitening and suppliers, and read the search terms report every month for new leaks.

Bookings, not just clicks

We track calls, booking requests and online bookings as conversions, so the monthly report shows which treatments brought patients through the door.

Who it’s for

Is it the right fit?

Who it’s for

  • Practices with chair time to fill in the next few weeks
  • Dentists wanting more implant, aligner or cosmetic cases
  • Practices that offer emergency appointments
  • Owners whose past ad spend brought calls but few bookings

Not a fit

  • Practices fully booked for months ahead
  • Anyone wanting a promised number of new patients
  • Budgets that can’t cover a plan plus ad spend yet: start with your Google Business Profile ($500 + GST set-up)

How it works

How a partnership runs

Every partnership starts with a strategy, then runs month by month with one plan and one point of contact.

  1. Free discovery call

A free 30-minute call about your business, your goals and whether a partnership is the right fit.

  2. Strategy and roadmap

We get to know your goals, customers, challenges and opportunities, then give you a practical marketing roadmap.

  3. Monthly delivery

Your account manager runs the plan each month across the channels it needs, from social media and SEO to email and press releases.

  4. Meet and report

A monthly meeting by phone or visit, with a HubSpot dashboard that shows what the work is achieving.

How it starts

How Google Ads for dentist practices start with us

We start with your appointment book, not the ad account. Which treatments do you want more of, and when do you have chair time? Who answers the phone after hours? Then we review your current ads and tracking, and agree which two or three treatments to start with.

You approve every ad and landing page before anything goes live. Each month Callen Mowatt, our Google Ads Specialist, reviews the search terms and bookings by treatment, and your account manager walks you through the report and next month’s budget.

  • Treatments chosen by value and chair time
  • Ad schedule set to your phone hours
  • Every ad approved by you first
  • Bookings tracked by treatment
  • Budget reviewed at the monthly meeting

More of the patients you want, at the times you can see them.

Our management sits in partnership plans from $4,500 + GST a month for 28 hours, with Standard at $5,500 + GST and Advanced at $7,500 + GST a month. Ad spend is paid to Google on top, and you set it per treatment. If you only want your current account checked, a Google Ads audit is billed at $175 + GST an hour.

They are worth it when you have chair time to fill and treatments worth advertising, such as implants, aligners or emergency appointments. People searching for those are ready to book. They are less useful for a practice that is already full, or when your Google Business Profile and reviews need work first, which costs far less to fix.

AHPRA’s guidelines for advertising a regulated health service apply to every ad and landing page. That means no testimonials about clinical care, nothing misleading, no unreasonable expectation of results, and no “specialist” title unless the dentist holds specialist registration. Your practice stays responsible for compliance, and you approve every ad before it runs.

Yes, but the terms must be clear. AHPRA’s guidelines say gifts, discounts and inducements need their terms and conditions stated, such as who is eligible, what is included and when it ends. We put the key terms in the ad and the full terms on the landing page, and we avoid offers that encourage treatment people don’t need.

Only if someone can take the call. A late-night search for an emergency dentist is one of the most valuable clicks you can buy, but a missed call wastes it. We schedule call ads to your phone hours, and if you have an after-hours number, we run them in those hours too.

Choose a dental Google Ads agency that knows AHPRA’s advertising rules, builds campaigns by treatment, sets the account up in your practice’s name and reports bookings rather than clicks. Ask who manages the account day to day and how often search terms are reviewed. Be wary of anyone promising a set number of new patients.

It depends on your suburbs, your competition and the treatments you choose, so we don’t quote a figure before looking. Starting with one or two treatments keeps the spend focused. We propose a budget for each campaign after the discovery call, and you can raise or lower it each month.

Yes. Google renamed AdWords as Google Ads in 2018, so anyone searching for AdWords for dentists is looking for the same thing. Some practices still run accounts set up in the AdWords days, with old settings that waste money. We check those first when we take over Google Ads for a dentist.

Your practice owns the Google Ads account, and it is set up in your business’s name. If you leave, the campaigns, history and audiences stay with you. Our partnership plans have no lock-in contracts, so you stay because the monthly report shows the ads paying their way.
