Social media for dental practices that patients actually follow

Rock Solid Marketing runs dental marketing social media for practices across Australia: posts, stories and short videos that show your team and help patients look after their teeth. It sits within our dental marketing work.

Dental feeds go wrong in two ways. Some are so cautious they post nothing but public holiday hours. Others repost glowing patient reviews or smile makeovers without knowing that AHPRA's guidelines restrict both. The answer is a plan that's interesting and inside the rules.

Social plans start from $1,500 + GST a month. The first step is a free 30-minute discovery call.

Common problems

What gets in the way, and how we fix it

  1. Our feed is just opening hours and public holiday notices.

    What we do

We plan a month of posts at a time: team introductions, hygiene tips, kids' check-up reminders and practice news, so the feed has a pulse.

  2. We're not sure we're allowed to share patient reviews or smiles.

    What we do

We keep testimonials about clinical care out of your posts and follow AHPRA's guidance on images, so you can post with confidence.

What we do

Dental social media marketing, month by month

Content patients enjoy, planned around your calendar and approved by your practice.

Your team, front and centre

Meet-the-dentist and front-desk posts help nervous patients feel they know someone before they arrive. Staff appear only with their agreement.

Hygiene tips people save

Short, practical posts on brushing, flossing, kids' teeth and sports mouthguards, written in plain English and checked by your dentists.

Timed to the year

Back-to-school check-ups, sports season mouthguards and end-of-year health fund reminders, scheduled ahead so nothing is last minute.

Dental social media advertising

Boosted posts and Meta ads for new-patient and family campaigns, aimed at your area and written with clear terms on any offer.

Inside AHPRA's guidelines

No testimonials about clinical care, careful use of images and complete terms on offers. Your practice approves every post.

Monthly results meeting

A reporting dashboard and a monthly meeting show reach, engagement and booking enquiries from social media.

How it works

How we run your social media

Plan, create, approve, publish and report, every month.

  1. Discovery call

A free 30-minute call to choose your platforms and the plan that suits your goals.

  2. Strategy and research

Competitor research and a content plan built around your goals, from brand awareness to enquiries.

  3. Create and approve

Posts, carousels, stories and reels made for your brand. You approve them on our scheduling platform, with one round of changes.

  4. Publish and report

We schedule and post, then meet with you monthly to go through the reporting dashboard and what to change.

The rules

Dental practice social media marketing under AHPRA's guidelines

Dentists are registered health practitioners, so your social posts are advertising under the National Law. That rules out testimonials about clinical care, including reposting patient reviews that praise a treatment. Images, such as before-and-after photos, must not mislead or create unreasonable expectations.

We plan content that works within those lines: your people, education and practice news. Offers carry their full terms. Patient photos and stories appear only with written consent, and you approve every post before it's published.

  • No clinical testimonials or reposted reviews
  • Images checked against AHPRA guidance
  • Full terms on every offer
  • Patient content only with written consent
  • Practice approval on every post

A feed patients like and regulators would too.

All FAQs

Our social plans start from $1,500 + GST a month for one platform and 8 posts a month. Standard is from $2,000 + GST a month for up to 2 platforms, and Advanced from $2,800 + GST a month for up to 3. Boost budgets are paid to Meta on top. If your practice only needs a content calendar and templates, we'll tell you before we quote.

Post your team, practical hygiene tips, practice news and reminders that suit the season, such as school holiday check-ups. Short videos introducing your dentists work well for nervous patients. Keep clinical claims out and let education carry the feed. Social media for dental practices should feel friendly rather than salesy.

No, not reviews about clinical care. AHPRA's guidelines treat a practice's social media as advertising, and testimonials about clinical aspects of care aren't allowed, including reposting a patient's glowing review. Patients can still review you on Google, and you can reply politely without discussing their treatment.

Only with care. AHPRA's guidance says images must not mislead or create unreasonable expectations, and they need the patient's written consent. Many practices avoid them on social media and focus on education instead. If you do use them, we follow AHPRA's guidance and your practice signs off on each one.

Facebook and Instagram reach most patients, especially families. Facebook suits practice news and community posts, and Instagram suits short videos and stories. A single platform done well beats two done poorly, so most practices start with one on our Starter plan. Standard and Advanced add a second or third platform once the first is running smoothly.

Yes. Dental social media advertising works well for new-patient and family campaigns aimed at your area. Any offer needs clear terms and must not encourage unnecessary treatment, under AHPRA's guidelines. Ads are paid to Meta on top of your plan, and larger campaigns run under our social ads packages.

We track reach and engagement, but the numbers that matter are booking enquiries and calls from social media. Your reporting dashboard and monthly meeting show both. If a post type isn't bringing patients, we change the plan rather than posting more of the same. Boosted posts are measured on enquiries, not likes.

Look for a team that knows AHPRA's rules, builds in your approval, and plans a month ahead rather than posting on the fly. Ask how it measures bookings. Good dental social media management keeps your feed active even when the practice is flat out. Dental marketing social media works best as a steady habit, not a burst.
