Hospitality SEO for venues people look up tonight

Hospitality SEO for pubs, clubs, cafes and venues that want to show up in Google's map results when people nearby look for somewhere to go.

SEO for venues

Hospitality SEO starts on the map, not the blog

Rock Solid Marketing runs SEO for pubs, clubs, cafes and function rooms around Australia, working from our office in Mildura. Most of the work happens where guests decide: Google's map results, your Google Business Profile, and the menu and events pages on your website.

Someone looking for a pub meal or a Sunday breakfast usually wants somewhere close and open now. Google's Business Profile help pages say local results are ranked on relevance, distance and prominence. You can't move your venue, but you can make it the most relevant and best-known choice nearby. That's the job.

SEO plans start from $1,000 + GST a month with no lock-in contract, and every venue starts with a free 30-minute discovery call. If your listing only needs a one-off tidy-up, we'll tell you before we quote.

Common problems

What gets in the way, and how we fix it

  1. Your venue barely shows in the map results, even in your own street.

    What we do

We complete your Google Business Profile (categories, hours, menu, photos, attributes) and build the reviews and local links that lift its prominence.

  2. Your menu is a PDF, so Google can't match your dishes to what people search for.

    What we do

We turn menus and events into real web pages, each with its own title, so a search for a parma or a Sunday roast can find you.

  3. Old directory listings still show a phone number you changed years ago.

    What we do

We find and fix your venue's name, address and phone number on directories and review sites, so Google sees one consistent business.

What the work covers

SEO for hospitality venues, from the map to the menu

Every part of the work helps a nearby guest pick your venue: a complete listing, pages that answer what they searched and reviews that back it up.

A Google profile done properly

Primary and secondary categories, hours including public holidays, a menu link, photos and attributes such as outdoor seating or an accessible entry. A profile set-up on its own is $500 + GST.

Menu and events pages Google reads

Each menu, function room and regular night gets its own page, title and description. Specific searches then land on the right page instead of your home page.

Reviews and replies

We help you ask guests for reviews at the right moment and draft replies for you to approve. No incentives and no gating, in line with the ACCC's guidance on online reviews.

The same details everywhere

Your venue's name, address and phone number matched across directories, review sites and social pages. Mismatched details confuse Google and guests alike, so we fix them first.

Technical health checks

Page titles and meta tags, robots.txt, the sitemap, internal links and page speed, checked and fixed in every plan. Warrawong on the Darling's site has had our SEO care since 2021.

A report you can read

A monthly Semrush report shows your rankings, your traffic from Google and the calls and direction requests from your profile. A review call follows to agree next month's work.

How it works

How we run your SEO

SEO is an ongoing process, so the work runs month by month, with a report and a call every time.

  1. Discovery call

A free 30-minute call about your website, your market and the searches your customers make.

  2. Research and set-up

Keyword research, analytics set-up and a technical check of your site, from load speed to robots.txt and sitemaps.

  3. On-page and off-page work

Title tags, meta tags, content editing, internal links and offsite link building, all focused on ranking regionally.

  4. Monthly report and review

A custom report and a personalised review call every month on your rankings, your traffic and what comes next.

How it starts

Our hospitality SEO agency work starts with a local audit

We start by searching for your venue the way guests do, on a phone, for the things you sell: a counter meal, a function room, live music. We note who shows up in the map results and why. Then we audit your Google Business Profile, your website and your listings on directories and review sites.

You get a short list of fixes in priority order, with the quick wins first. You approve the plan, and we report on rankings, traffic and profile actions every month.

  • Map results for your key searches
  • Google Business Profile completeness
  • Menu, events and function pages
  • Name, address and phone across directories
  • Review count, rating and replies

Win the map, then win the menu search.

SEO plans start from $1,000 + GST a month, with no lock-in contract: plans are reviewed monthly. That covers keyword research, on-site and technical work, link building and a monthly Semrush report with a review call. A one-off Google Business Profile set-up is $500 + GST if you only need the basics.

Profile fixes are often the quickest wins, while rankings for busy searches usually take months. Google doesn't publish a timeline, so we don't promise one. What you do get is a monthly report, so you can watch rankings, traffic and calls move and decide whether the plan is worth continuing.

Yes, for most venues that rely on new guests finding them. Good SEO for hospitality industry venues is mostly local: the map results, reviews and pages for what you serve. A venue that's always full from regulars and word of mouth may need little more than a tidy Google listing.

Local SEO aims at the map results and nearby searches, through your Google Business Profile, reviews and directory listings. Regular SEO aims at your website ranking in the main results for searches about your menu, functions or events. Venues need both, but the local work usually comes first.

No, and be wary of anyone who does. Google decides rankings, and the map results also weigh how close the searcher is. We can promise the work: a complete profile, pages that answer real searches, honest reviews and a monthly report that shows what moved.

Not usually. Most venue sites can be improved in place: better page titles, a menu as text instead of a PDF, faster pages and clearer event listings. If the site can't be fixed for a sensible cost, we'll tell you and quote a rebuild through our website packages, from $5,000 + GST.

Because venues compete on different signals. A general agency may chase blog traffic, while a venue specialist works on what fills tables: map rankings, menu searches, events and reviews. We also plan around the trading year, timing work before footy season, school holidays and Christmas functions.

It's a Semrush report on your rankings for the searches we agreed and your traffic from Google. It also shows the calls and direction requests from your Google Business Profile. Your account manager goes through it with you on a review call and agrees the next month's priorities.
