The objective

What Warrawong on the Darling needed

Warrawong on the Darling needed a brand and a website that show travellers what a stay on the Darling River near Wilcannia is like, and make it easy to pick a cabin, a powered site or a bush camp and book it.

What we did

The work behind Warrawong on the Darling

  1. Logo and brand identity

  2. WordPress website design and build

  3. Pages for cabins, caravanning and camping

  4. Book Now button into the park's online booking system

  5. Ongoing SEO

  6. Social media management

The park

Warrawong on the Darling is a caravan park and cabin stay on the banks of the Darling River, just off the Barrier Highway outside Wilcannia in far west New South Wales. Guests choose between cabins, powered caravan sites and bush camping along the river and the lagoon. It suits a night's stopover or a longer stay, with fishing, canoeing, bird watching and bush walks on the property.

The brand

Rock Solid Marketing started with the logo. A blue river line curves beside a serif wordmark, with "on the darling" set underneath in a warm sand colour. A reversed version in white on river blue runs in the website footer. The website picks up the same palette, with Playfair Display headings and Montserrat for the text, so the brand reads the same on screen and on social media.

The website

We designed and built the website on WordPress. The home page opens on the river and gets straight to the three ways to stay: camping, caravanning and cabins. Each has its own page, and the accommodation page lists powered sites, unpowered camping and cabins together so guests can compare them. A Book Now button in the menu takes guests to the park's online booking system from any page.

The Explore page covers the national parks nearby (Mutawintji, Paroo-Darling and Kinchega), which gives travellers a reason to stay another night. The about page answers the practical questions: where the park is, what the sites and cabins offer and who runs it.

Since launch

The site went live in 2021, and we have looked after the park's SEO and social media since then. Newer content, such as the park map and the Dusty Outback Café, sits inside the same design. Warrawong is also one of the outback stays we promote for Out of the Ordinary Outback, alongside the Broken Hill Outback Resort and the Underground Motel White Cliffs.

Why it worked

What made the difference

The site leads with what sets the park apart: the river, the lagoon, the birdlife and the quiet of the outback. Each way to stay has its own page, and the Book Now button sits in the menu on every page, so a traveller can go from browsing to booking without hunting for it. The same logo, colours and type carry across the website and social media, so the park looks the same wherever guests find it.
