A case study writer for proof that wins work

A case study writer for Australian businesses: we interview your client, check every fact with them and write a story buyers trust.

Case study writing

A case study writer who turns finished jobs into proof

Rock Solid Marketing is a case study writer for Australian businesses that do good work and struggle to show it. You finished a project the client loved. Six months later a tender asks for examples, and all you have is a photo and a line on an invoice.

We write the story properly: the client's situation, what you did, and what changed, in plain words a buyer can follow. We interview you and your client, use only the results they confirm, and send the draft to both of you to check. We write our own case studies the same way, including Tristate Tours and Princes Court.

Case studies are billed at $175 + GST an hour, quoted before we start. Your first step is a free 30-minute discovery call.

What you get

Case study writing services built on interviews

A case study is only as good as the facts behind it. We get them from the people who were there.

Two interviews, not a form

We talk to you about the work and to your client about what changed for them. Their words become the quotes, with their approval, and give the story weight.

Results your client confirms

Numbers go in only when your client agrees to them in writing. If there are no figures, we describe the change honestly instead of guessing at a percentage.

A structure buyers can skim

Situation, objective, what you did, what changed and why it worked, each under its own heading. A buyer can read it in two minutes or lift one section for a tender.

Written by journalists

Andrew Mevissen and Emma Sutcliffe come from journalism and communications. They know how to find the story in a project and tell it without adjectives doing the work.

Ready for your website

We suggest photos and captions, write the meta title and description, and can lay the case study out on your website or in a one-page PDF.

One story, many uses

The same case study can feed a tender response, an award entry, a sales email and a LinkedIn post. We write short versions for each when you need them.

How it works

How a case study gets written

Four steps, with your client's approval built in.

  1. Free discovery call

A free 30-minute call about the project, where the case study will be used and who should be interviewed.

  2. Permission and interviews

Your client agrees to be named, then we interview you and them, usually by phone or video.

  3. Draft and fact check

The writer drafts the story, flags any unconfirmed fact and sends it to you and your client.

  4. Sign-off and publish

Once both of you approve, we hand over the final copy or publish it on your website.

How it starts

From a finished job to a signed-off story

First we agree which project to write up and why: a tender, the website, an award or a sales conversation. Then we ask your client for permission to name them, because a named case study is worth far more than an anonymous one.

After the interviews, the writer drafts the story and lists any fact that still needs checking. You review it, your client reviews it, and only then is it final. If your client prefers not to be named, we write a de-identified version and say so.

  • The project and its purpose agreed
  • Your client's permission to be named
  • Interviews with you and your client
  • A draft with open facts flagged
  • Sign-off from you and your client

Your client signs off before anyone reads it.

All FAQs

Our case study writing is billed at $175 + GST an hour, with a fixed quote first. One case study with two interviews usually takes 4 to 6 hours, about $700 to $1,050 + GST as an estimate. Regular case studies can sit inside a partnership plan. If a short testimonial with a photo will do the job, we'll tell you before we quote.

It depends mostly on your client, because the writing itself takes only a few hours. Most of the wait is booking your client's interview and getting their approval. If you have a tender deadline, tell us early and we'll plan backwards from it.

A good case study covers the client's situation, what they needed, what you did, what changed and why it worked. It names the client, quotes them in their own words and shows confirmed results. It's honest about the challenge, because a story with no difficulty reads like an ad and buyers skip it.

Because you're too close to the work. Professional case study writers ask the questions an outsider would ask, find the detail that makes the story believable and cut the parts only you find interesting. Your client also tends to speak more freely to a writer than to the business that did the job.

Yes, when your client confirms them. We use only figures your client agrees to publish, and we attribute them to the client. If there are no hard numbers, we describe what changed in plain terms. We never round up, estimate or invent a result, because a case study that can't be backed up does more harm than good.

We can write a de-identified case study that describes the client by industry and region, such as a regional aged care provider. It's less persuasive than a named story, so we'll ask first. Some clients agree once they see the draft and know they can approve every word.

On your website first, linked from the service pages they prove. Then reuse them in tenders and capability statements, award entries, sales emails and LinkedIn posts. One good story can do a lot of work, so we can write short versions for each place you plan to use it.

We work with businesses across Australia, many of them regional, and interview clients by phone or video wherever they are. As a case study writing service in Australia, we write in Australian English and know how local tender panels and award judges read. Interviews can also happen at our Mildura office by booking.
