Cafe marketing for the regulars and the passers-by

Cafe marketing for independent cafes: keep regulars coming back, catch the commuters and visitors, and fill the quiet afternoons.

Cafe marketing

Cafe marketing that fills the quiet hours

Rock Solid Marketing provides cafe marketing for independent cafes across regional Australia, built around a cafe’s daily rhythm. You’re flat out from 7 to 9 and at lunch, then the room empties at 2.30, and the office around the corner orders its meeting catering from somewhere else.

We help you keep regulars coming back, get found by commuters and visitors, and win the catering and afternoon trade that fills the gaps. We start with the tools a small cafe actually needs, not a long list of platforms.

Social media plans start from $1,500 + GST a month. If a current Google profile and a loyalty idea will do the job, we’ll tell you before we quote.

Common problems

What gets in the way, and how we fix it

  1. We’re packed at breakfast and lunch, then dead after 2pm.

    What we do

We promote afternoon offers and catering to nearby workplaces, so the quiet hours start to earn.

  2. Visitors walk past because they can’t see our menu or hours online.

    What we do

We keep your Google Business Profile current with the menu, hours, photos and dietary options, so passers-by choose you.

  3. Regulars love us, but we don’t know how to get them in more often.

    What we do

We set up a simple loyalty idea and social posts that give regulars a reason to drop in again this week.

How we help

Marketing for cafes, from first coffee to close

A cafe’s trade changes by the hour, so the marketing follows the same clock.

Right on Google Maps

Hours, menu, dietary options and photos kept current, so people searching for coffee nearby find you open and appealing.

Social posts with personality

Your baristas, the specials board and the new cake in the cabinet, posted at the times your customers scroll.

Regulars who return

A loyalty idea that suits your cafe, from a punch card to an app you already use, promoted so regulars actually use it.

Catering for local offices

A catering menu and a simple order form for meetings and events, sent to the workplaces around you.

Afternoon and seasonal offers

Afternoon specials, school holiday treats and winter menus promoted ahead of time to fill the slower hours and seasons.

Reviews handled well

We help you ask every customer for a review and reply politely to each one, as the ACCC expects, without gating or fake reviews.

Who it’s for

Is it the right fit?

Who it’s for

  • Independent cafes and coffee shops
  • Cafes near offices, schools or hospitals
  • Cafes in tourist towns that rely on visitors
  • Cafes adding catering or takeaway lines

Not a fit

  • Full restaurants with evening service: our restaurant marketing page fits better
  • Large chains with in-house marketing teams

Your plan

A marketing plan for cafe owners

We start with your trade by the hour, your regulars, your best sellers and who is nearby: offices, schools, a hospital or a tourist strip. Then we put together a marketing strategy for your cafe that targets the slow hours first.

Each month we meet to look at foot traffic, catering orders and reviews, and plan the next season’s menu and promotions. Most cafes start with social media and a Google profile, and add catering or email when they’re ready.

  • Trade by the hour reviewed first
  • Nearby workplaces and visitors mapped
  • Slow hours targeted first
  • Catering menu and order form
  • Monthly review of trade and reviews

Busy hours stay busy, quiet hours get busier.

All FAQs

Our social media plans start from $1,500 + GST a month for one platform and 2 posts a week. A Google Business Profile set-up is $500 + GST, and design work such as a catering menu is $175 + GST an hour. Partnership plans from $4,500 + GST a month cover every channel.

Start with a complete Google Business Profile, one social media account you post on regularly and a way to collect reviews. Then add a simple loyalty idea and a catering menu if you serve nearby workplaces. A full website helps later, especially for catering orders and events.

It depends on where you are. Near offices it’s workers on the way in and at lunch; near schools it’s parents after drop-off; in a tourist town it’s visitors. Most cafes serve two or three of these groups, and each needs its own message and time of day.

Know your busy and quiet hours, then market to fill the quiet ones: afternoon offers, catering to local workplaces and reasons for regulars to visit more often. Keep your Google profile right for visitors. A marketing strategy for a cafe business works best when it’s simple and consistent.

Introduce a new barista or cake each week on social media, offer an afternoon coffee-and-cake deal, partner with the bakery or florist nearby, run a loyalty card, and send your catering menu to local offices. Small, regular ideas usually beat one big launch.

We don’t name cafe clients on this page. Our hospitality work includes social media for Mildura Workers Club and creative and social for Sunraysia Farmers Market. We apply that local experience to cafes, and we’re upfront about it.

No, our plans have no lock-in contracts. Your Google profile, social accounts, photos and designs belong to your cafe, so you can take over at any time.
