Architect marketing for design-led practices

Architect marketing for practices that want better briefs: project stories, photography and publishing plans that show your work before you meet.

Partnership plans from $4,500 + GST a month

Architects

Architect marketing that shows the work before the first meeting

Rock Solid Marketing plans and runs marketing for architects and architecture firms across Australia, from our office in Mildura. Clients choose an architect by looking. They scroll your projects, read how you work and decide whether their budget and taste fit before they ever call. A thin portfolio page, or a feed of finished photos with no context, brings the wrong briefs.

So we tell each project properly: the site, the brief, the constraints, the decisions and the finished result, with photography you're licensed to use. Then we put that work where future clients look, from search and Instagram to design publications. Your wording stays inside the rules on who can be called an architect.

Partnership plans start from $4,500 + GST a month. Every new practice starts with a free 30-minute discovery call.

Common problems

What gets in the way, and how we fix it

  1. The website shows beautiful photos but says nothing about how we work.

    What we do

Project pages walk through the brief, the site, the key decisions and the outcome, so clients understand your process as well as your style.

  2. We get enquiries with budgets that don't match our work.

    What we do

Clear signals on the kinds of projects you take on, typical scope and how fees work, so mismatched enquiries filter themselves out.

  3. Photos from the shoot can't be used everywhere we want.

    What we do

We check photography licences before anything is published and plan shoots so the images cover the website, social media and award entries.

  4. Staff who aren't registered get called architects on our own site.

    What we do

Team pages and bios use titles that match registration, because the title architect is protected under each state and territory's Architects Act.

Services for architects

Digital marketing for architecture firms, project by project

Marketing that lets the work do the talking, with the context clients need to know you're the right fit.

Project pages with the whole story

Project pages with photography, drawings and a short account of the brief, site and decisions, built so clients can browse by project type. Website packages start from $5,000 + GST.

Photography planned and licensed

Shoot briefs that cover the website, social media and award entries, with licences checked so every image can be used where you need it. Shoots are priced to the job.

Instagram and Pinterest

Project stories, process shots and drawings on Instagram and Pinterest, where many homeowners collect ideas long before they brief an architect.

Publications and awards

Pitches to design publications and help with award submissions, with awards and coverage only mentioned once you've actually received them. Press releases start from $1,000 + GST.

Search by project type and place

SEO for searches such as residential architect in your region, plus a Google Business Profile with your studio details. SEO on its own begins at $1,000 + GST a month.

Briefs, not just likes

A monthly report shows enquiries by project type and budget range, so you can see whether the marketing is bringing in the briefs you actually want.

Who it’s for

Is it the right fit?

Who it’s for

  • Residential architecture practices
  • Commercial and public sector practices
  • Small studios and sole practitioners
  • Building designers and interior designers, with titles worded correctly

Not a fit

  • Practices that want volume over the right briefs
  • Anyone wanting award or publication claims they can't show
  • A studio that only needs a portfolio site: a website package may suit better

How it starts

An architect marketing plan starts with the briefs you want

We start with your portfolio and your pipeline: the projects you're proudest of, the ones you'd like more of, typical budgets, where enquiries come from today and which ones you turn down.

Then we pick the projects to tell first, check what photography exists and what it's licensed for, and agree the wording for registered and unregistered team members.

You leave with a publishing plan for the year, whoever delivers it.

  • Projects you want more of
  • Typical budgets and scope
  • Where enquiries come from today
  • Photography and licences on hand
  • Titles for every team member

We approached Rock Solid Marketing to build our online store for our retail division and to look after our existing website. The professionalism of Sean and his team from day one was incredible, they took the time to sit down with us to discuss our exact requirements and they offered suggestions for the build which would improve the overall running of the store.

The finished result of our online store is nothing short of fantastic- it integrates with our point of sale software, it is very easy to navigate, and presents and operates as a professionally made web store should. Since completion and hand over, the back up support we receive from Rock Solid Marketing is remarkable- nothing is too much trouble and we can contact the team at any time with any questions we may have. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Sean, Janine and the team from Rock Solid Marketing for building or revamping a website, creating an online store to suit your business or with online marketing.

There isn’t one set recipe for success when it comes to creating a great brand, but there are certainly some guiding principles worth following. Here are Rock Solid Marketing’s 7 best tips for great branding (which by the way, we implement and/or promote in our own branding services!): Keep it Simple Don’t overcomplicate your brand

Social Media

How To Use Social Media To Build Trust & Drive Sales For Your Business

In 2025, social media remains one of the most powerful tools small business owners can use to build their brand, connect with customers, and drive sales. But let’s be honest: between running your business, managing day-to-day tasks, and keeping customers happy, finding the time and energy to stay consistent on social media can feel overwhelming.

All FAQs

Our Starter partnership plan is $4,500 + GST a month and gives a practice 28 hours. Larger practices often choose Standard ($5,500 + GST, 35 hours). Photography is priced separately. A small studio that mainly needs a portfolio website may be better served by a website package from $5,000 + GST, and we'll say so before we quote.

It's mostly about showing the right work to the right people. That means project pages with context, good photography, Instagram and Pinterest, search for your project types and region, and pitches to publications. Behind it sits a plan for which projects to tell, when, and to whom.

Show the work you want more of and say who it's for. If you want more residential alterations in a certain price range, feature those projects, explain your process and fees plainly, and target searches and social audiences that match. Marketing for architecture firms works best when it filters as well as attracts.

Yes, with the owners' permission. Many homeowners are happy to share their home but not their address or faces, so we agree what's shown and how the project is described. For commercial projects, the client may want to approve the wording. Photography licences also need checking before images go online.

Only people registered with the architects board in their state or territory, because each Architects Act protects the title. Graduates, building designers and interior designers need other titles. We set the wording for every team member and project credit, and your practice confirms it before anything is published.

Often, yes, especially for residential work. Homeowners collect ideas on Instagram and Pinterest long before they brief an architect, so a steady feed of projects, process and drawings keeps your studio in mind. Digital marketing for architects works best when social posts lead to full project pages, because posts alone rarely explain how you work.

Months rather than weeks, because clients often plan building projects well ahead. A new website and project pages start working once they're live, search builds over time, and publications follow their own schedules. We report enquiries by project type each month, and we don't promise commissions.

As your marketing agency for architects, we write content and build pages that belong to your practice. Photography stays under whatever licence the photographer granted, which we document for you. Our partnership plans have no lock-in contracts, so you can pause between busy periods without losing anything.
