Website repair when something has broken

Website repair for Australian businesses whose site is down, hacked, showing Not secure or broken after an update: diagnosed, quoted and fixed.

Website repair

Website repair that finds the cause first

Rock Solid Marketing provides website repair for Australian businesses when something has gone wrong: the site is down, it has been hacked, the browser says Not secure, or an update has broken the layout. Customers are emailing to say they can’t get through, and the person who built the site isn’t answering.

We find the cause before we touch anything, tell you what it will take to fix, and then get the site working again. Afterwards we show you how to stop it happening twice.

Repairs are quoted after we diagnose the problem, so you approve the cost first. If the fix is something you can do yourself for free, such as renewing a certificate through your host, we’ll tell you before we quote.

What we fix

Fix my website: the problems we see most

Most broken sites fail in a handful of ways, and each has a different cause and fix.

Site down

We check the domain, the hosting, the DNS settings and the error logs to find why the site won’t load, then get it back online.

Hacked or flagged

We clean out malicious code, close the gap it came through, restore from a clean backup where possible and help you clear warnings in Google Search Console.

Not secure warnings

A missing or expired SSL certificate, or pages loading insecure files, triggers the warning. We install or renew the certificate and fix the mixed content.

Broken after an update

When a plugin or theme update breaks the layout or a form, we find the conflict, roll back safely and update properly.

Forms and email not working

Contact forms that stop sending are a quiet way to lose enquiries. We test the form, the mail settings and the spam filters until messages arrive.

Protected afterwards

Once fixed, a care plan keeps updates, backups and security checks running, so the same problem doesn’t come back.

How a repair runs

Hire someone to fix my website: what happens

You call or book a time and tell us what is happening. We ask for access to your hosting and website, then diagnose the cause before changing anything. You get a quote for the fix, and we start once you approve it.

After the repair we test the site on a phone and a computer, check forms and secure pages, and send you a short note on what broke and why. If your site was hacked, we also change passwords and review who has access.

All FAQs

It depends on the cause, so we quote after we diagnose the problem and you approve the cost before we start. A renewed certificate is a small job; a hacked site takes longer. Afterwards, care plans start from $275 + GST a month (6-month minimum) to keep the site updated, backed up and checked.

First check whether your domain and hosting have been paid, as expired renewals are a common cause. Then ask your host if there is an outage. If both are fine, the problem is usually a plugin, theme or server error. If you can’t find it quickly, call us on 1800 842 022.

Take the site offline or into maintenance mode, change every password, and restore a clean backup from before the hack if you have one. Then update everything, remove unknown users and scan for leftover code. Check Google Search Console for security warnings and request a review once it’s clean. We can do all of this for you.

The Not secure warning usually means the site has no valid SSL certificate, or some pages load images or scripts over an insecure connection. Many hosts offer free certificates you can switch on. If the warning stays after that, mixed content needs fixing, which we can do.

Restore the backup taken before the update if you have one. If not, turn off the most recently updated plugin through your hosting file manager, then check whether the site comes back. Update one item at a time after that. Our care plans run updates carefully with backups first.

Sometimes. Renewing a lapsed domain, switching on a free SSL certificate through your host or rolling back a plugin can cost nothing but your time. We’ll tell you on the call if your problem is one of those. Hacks, server errors and broken code usually need paid help.

Website maintenance is the regular work that keeps a site secure and working: software and plugin updates, backups, security checks and small content changes. It prevents most of the problems on this page. Our care plans start at $275 + GST a month for small sites, with a 6-month minimum.

Yes, as long as you own the site or have the owner’s permission, and can give us access to the hosting and admin login. If those details are lost, we can help you recover them through your host or domain provider.
