Social Media Management

Social media for accountants that keeps client trust

Social media for accountants who can’t post client wins: your team, plain-English tax news and partners on LinkedIn, approved by your practice.

Social media for accountants, written around confidentiality

Rock Solid Marketing runs social media for accountants and accounting practices across Australia: posts, carousels and short videos that show your people and explain tax news in plain English, from our Mildura office.

Most businesses fill their feeds with happy customers. You can’t. The Tax Practitioners Board’s Code of Professional Conduct says you must not share a client’s affairs without their permission, so the usual case-study post is off the table. What’s left is still plenty: the team people will meet, the questions clients ask every week, and the ATO announcements they half-heard about.

We’ve done work for accounting practices before, and we keep their names private, the same way you keep your clients’. Social plans start from $1,500 + GST a month, and it all starts with a free 30-minute discovery call. It can also sit inside a wider plan for marketing your practice.

Common problems

What gets in the way, and how we fix it

  1. Our best stories are about clients, and we can’t tell any of them.

    What we do

We build your feed around what you can share: your team, your office, how a first appointment works and the questions clients ask. A client story runs only with their written consent and your approval.

  2. The partners know they should post on LinkedIn, but nobody has time between lodgements.

    What we do

We draft posts in each partner’s voice from a short monthly chat, then send them for approval. The partner posts from their own profile, and the practice page shares it.

  3. We worry a post about a tax change could read like personal advice.

    What we do

Posts explain what changed and who it affects as general information, then invite people to book a chat. A registered tax agent at your practice checks every post before it’s scheduled.

What we post for you

Social media for accounting firms, inside the rules

Every post has a job: show who people will deal with, answer a question clients ask, or give them a reason to call before a deadline bites.

Your people, not stock photos

Short profiles of the team, the receptionist who answers the phone and the partner who signs returns. People choose an accountant they feel they can talk to, so faces do more than slogans.

Tax news in plain English

When the ATO announces a change, we turn it into a short post or carousel: what changed, who it affects and when. It’s general information, written so a sole trader understands it in one read.

Scam alerts clients share

The ATO publishes scam alerts about fake texts and calls. Sharing them in plain words protects your clients and gives your page posts people pass on to their parents.

Partners on LinkedIn

Business owners, bankers and financial planners are on LinkedIn. We write social media for accounting firm partners in their own voice, so the practice’s name shows up where referrals start.

Facebook for local clients

Individual return clients and small businesses in your town are more likely on Facebook. Posts there cover your hours, appointment times and the team, with boosts to nearby suburbs on Standard and Advanced.

A monthly results meeting

Your dashboard shows reach, engagement and enquiries from each platform. Each month we review it with you and agree what to post more of, and what to drop.

How it works

How we run your social media

Plan, create, approve, publish and report, every month.

  1. Discovery call

A free 30-minute call to choose your platforms and the plan that suits your goals.

  2. Strategy and research

Competitor research and a content plan built around your goals, from brand awareness to enquiries.

  3. Create and approve

Posts, carousels, stories and reels made for your brand. You approve them on our scheduling platform, with one round of changes.

  4. Publish and report

We schedule and post, then meet with you monthly to go through the reporting dashboard and what to change.

How a month runs

Social media marketing for accounting firms, month by month

It starts with a briefing session: your services, your clients, the tone you want and what can never be posted. From that we plan a month of content and design the posts, carousels and short videos.

Everything goes to your practice for approval on the scheduling calendar before it’s published. A registered tax agent at your practice checks anything that mentions tax. If a few posts a month from your own team would do the job, we’ll say so before we quote.

  • A briefing session on services, tone and no-go topics
  • A monthly content plan in plain English
  • Posts, carousels, stories and short videos designed
  • Tax wording checked by your practice
  • Scheduled only after you approve

You approve every word. We do the rest.

How To Use Social Media To Build Trust & Drive Sales For Your Business

In 2025, social media remains one of the most powerful tools small business owners can use to build their brand, connect with customers, and drive sales. But let’s be honest: between running your business, managing day-to-day tasks, and keeping customers happy, finding the time and energy to stay consistent on social media can feel overwhelming.

All FAQs

Our social plans start from $1,500 + GST a month for Starter: 1 platform and 8 posts a month. Standard is $2,000 + GST a month for up to 2 platforms and 12 posts. Advanced is $2,800 + GST a month for up to 3 platforms and 20 posts. Boost budgets are paid to Meta on top, and most practices start on one platform.

Pick one or two platforms, decide what you’ll never post, and plan a month ahead. For most practices that means LinkedIn for business clients and Facebook for local individuals. Post your people, plain-English tax news and answers to common questions. Then have someone qualified check anything about tax before it goes out.

Mostly to build trust before the first meeting. Firms introduce their team, explain ATO changes as general information, share scam alerts and remind people about appointment times before busy periods. Partners use LinkedIn to stay visible to business owners and referral partners. Recruitment posts help too, when you’re hiring graduates.

Through the partners, more than the practice page. Business owners respond to a person who explains things clearly, so a partner posting on LinkedIn every week does more than a logo posting daily. Write about problems business clients bring you, such as cash flow or structuring, as general information. Then make booking a chat one click away.

Posts that answer a real question or introduce a real person. Good examples: a short video of a staff member explaining what to bring to a tax appointment, a carousel on what a new ATO rule means, or a scam alert. Generic quotes and stock photos of calculators rarely earn a second look.

Only with the client’s written permission. The TPB Code of Professional Conduct says you must not disclose a client’s affairs to a third party without their permission, unless you have a legal duty to. We never tag clients or mention their results unless you’ve confirmed consent, and APES 110 also rules out exaggerated claims about your services.

LinkedIn and Facebook suit most practices. LinkedIn reaches business owners, bankers and planners. Facebook reaches individuals and small businesses in your area. Instagram is worth adding if you’re hiring graduates or your clients are younger. With social media marketing for accounting firm clients, one platform done well beats three done badly.

You’ll see it on your reporting dashboard: reach, engagement and enquiries for each platform. Each month we meet to go through it and agree what to post more of. Look past likes to the calls, bookings and messages that mention a post. If a platform isn’t bringing anything for your practice, we’ll suggest dropping it.
