Shopify SEO services for Australian stores

Shopify SEO services for Australian store owners who want their products found on Google, not just in paid ads and marketplace listings.

SEO for Shopify

Shopify and SEO: working with the platform, not against it

Rock Solid Marketing provides Shopify SEO services for online stores across Australia, from our office in Mildura. Shopify does a lot of SEO housekeeping for you. It writes your sitemap, adds canonical tags and blocks filtered collection pages from Google by default. It also sets rules you can't change, such as the /products/ and /collections/ parts of every URL.

That's where most Shopify stores go wrong. Product descriptions copied from the supplier, apps that slow every page, and handles changed without a redirect. We work inside Shopify's rules to fix those, so the store you already pay for starts pulling its weight in search.

Plans start from $1,000 + GST a month with no lock-in, and the first step is a free 30-minute discovery call.

“The finished result of our online store is nothing short of fantastic- it integrates with our point of sale software, it is very easy to navigate, and presents and operates as a professionally made web store should.” Travis Broadstock, Owner, Exposed Signage and Apparel

What we work on

SEO services for Shopify stores, one fix at a time

Each of these is a Shopify-specific job, done in your store's admin or theme code by people who work in Shopify every week.

Product titles and descriptions

Supplier copy appears on dozens of other stores. We rewrite your priority products in your own words and fill in each product's search engine listing: title, description and URL handle.

Collections that match searches

Shoppers search for "women's hiking boots", not your SKU codes. We shape collection titles, intros and handles around how your customers actually search.

Theme and app speed

Each app can add its own scripts to every page. We check which apps slow your store on phones, remove what you don't use and compress oversized product photos.

Redirects when handles change

Change a product or collection handle and the old URL can break. We keep Shopify's URL redirects tidy, so old links and rankings land on the right page.

Robots.txt and sitemap checks

Shopify generates both. When a store needs custom rules, we edit the robots.txt.liquid template carefully, because it replaces Shopify's default file.

Store reporting you can read

Your monthly report shows rankings for your key products and collections, organic visits from Google Analytics 4 and what we'll work on next.

How it works

How the work runs in your store

We start with the products and collections that earn you the most, then work outwards.

  1. Store discovery call

A free 30-minute call about your store, your best sellers and where your sales come from today.

  2. Store and theme check

We connect Search Console and Google Analytics 4, crawl the store and check theme speed, apps and redirects.

  3. Products and collections

Each month we optimise priority products and collections, fix technical issues and build links.

  4. Report and review call

A monthly report on product and collection rankings, organic visits and next month's targets.

Code and content

Why an SEO agency for Shopify needs a developer

Plenty of Shopify search engine optimisation stops at meta titles, because the rest needs theme code. Our developer, Saimul Islam, works in Shopify alongside WordPress, Webflow and BigCommerce, so theme changes don't need a second agency. When Exposed Signage and Apparel's Shopify build stalled on technical problems, our team rebuilt the store from scratch.

Good Shopify SEO Australia-wide also means checking the basics local stores miss: prices in AUD, Australian spelling in product copy and shipping details on the page. If your theme is the real problem, we'll tell you before we quote.

  • Product and collection search listings in the Shopify admin
  • Theme code changes made by our developer
  • Apps reviewed for speed before anything is removed
  • URL redirects kept clean after handle changes
  • Product image alt text written for shoppers

Search strategy and Shopify code from one team.

We approached Rock Solid Marketing to build our online store for our retail division and to look after our existing website. The professionalism of Sean and his team from day one was incredible, they took the time to sit down with us to discuss our exact requirements and they offered suggestions for the build which would improve the overall running of the store.

The finished result of our online store is nothing short of fantastic- it integrates with our point of sale software, it is very easy to navigate, and presents and operates as a professionally made web store should. Since completion and hand over, the back up support we receive from Rock Solid Marketing is remarkable- nothing is too much trouble and we can contact the team at any time with any questions we may have. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Sean, Janine and the team from Rock Solid Marketing for building or revamping a website, creating an online store to suit your business or with online marketing.

Our Shopify SEO services start from $1,000 + GST a month, with no lock-in contract. The monthly cost depends on how many products and collections you want worked on and how competitive your products are. If the store itself needs rebuilding, our E-commerce website package starts from $6,000 + GST, and you see that quote first.

Start with your best-selling products and collections. Give each a unique title and description in your own words, then fill in the search engine listing section in the Shopify admin. Check your theme speed on a phone, remove apps you don't use, and add alt text to product photos.

You can do a lot yourself in the Shopify admin. Write unique product and collection descriptions, edit each search engine listing, add image alt text and keep URL redirects tidy. Blog posts that link to your products help too. Theme code, structured data and custom robots.txt rules are where a developer earns their fee.

Connect Google Search Console and submit the sitemap Shopify creates at /sitemap.xml. Then build a few strong collections, write original product copy and link your pages together from the menu and blog. New stores rank slowly, so ads or social can bring early sales while SEO builds.

Our order is: research what shoppers search, map those searches to collections and products, then rewrite titles, descriptions and handles. Next come theme speed, redirects and image alt text, then blog content and links that point at your collections. Each month we check rankings and repeat for the next group of products.

Usually a few months for meaningful change. Google needs to recrawl the pages you've updated, and competitive products take longer than niche ones. Fixes such as broken redirects or blocked pages can show sooner. Your monthly report tracks product and collection rankings, so you can see movement before it shows in sales.

No, we don't claim Shopify Partner status. Our team works in Shopify stores as part of our web and SEO work, and our developer works across Shopify, WordPress and other platforms. What we can show you is real work: the Shopify store we rebuilt for Exposed Signage and Apparel.

Only with your approval. We test changes before they go live and keep a note of what changed. If an app is slowing your store, we'll show you the evidence and suggest a lighter option before removing anything. Theme edits are made by our developer, so your checkout and layout stay intact.

No. Our SEO plans run month to month with no lock-in contract and no exit fee. We review the work with you every month, so you can shift the focus to new products or seasonal ranges, pause or stop. You keep every change made to your store.
