Melbourne Myotherapy provide myotherapy and remedial massage treatments in South Melbourne. When they signed on with us, they had a basic website that they were in the process of building up. During the first month we helped them add new content to their web pages highlighting the various services they offer, and we worked over the following months to optimise this content as well as the rest of the MMRM website. We also de-nested their service pages and simplified some of their page URLs, and did some competitor analysis to see what similar businesses in Melbourne were doing with their website and SEO.
In just 3.5 months, our Melbourne SEO services enabled Melbourne Myotherapy to nearly quadruple their keyword visibility from 5% to over 18% visibility. Here’s a look at what we did to improve their SEO.

Choosing SEO Keywords
Melbourne Myotherapy’s keywords were fairly straightforward: they came to us wanting to increase their rankings for keywords related to the services they offer. Their main services are myotherapy, remedial massage, back pain treatment, and sports massage.
Things got trickier when it came to optimising for location, though. They wanted to target potential clients not just in Melbourne, but in the suburbs of Port Melbourne, South Melbourne, Albert Park, and St. Kilda. When we crossed 4 services with 5 locations, we come up with nearly 50 different keyword iterations. How on earth do you decide which of these keywords are worth optimising for?
Enter Google Keyword Planner! We love using this tool when we’re overwhelmed with keyword options and want to know where to concentrate our optimisation efforts. The Keyword Planner tells us how often each keyword is searched as well as how much competition it has.
Straight away, we found that the bulk of our keyword options were so infrequently searched amongst users in Melbourne that it didn’t make sense to optimise the Melbourne Myotherapy site for them. However, there were a few keyword phrases that we never would have guessed were highly searched *and* with low competition.
Armed with this knowledge, we set out to optimise the MMRM site for the more highly searched keywords.
SEO Improvements in Just 3.5 Months
In 3.5 months, Melbourne Myotherapy have seen incredible results in their SEO efforts. They currently have 22 keyword phrases in that show up on Page 1 of Google (the Top 10 sites that rank for a given keyword are the ones that show up on the first page). What’s more, 16 of these 22 keywords appear in the Top 3!
We began our SEO services for them in early May. Since we optimised all of the pages and blog posts on their site, they have steadily increased in the search rankings and are fast approaching 20% visibility for their set of keywords.
