Digital Marketing Reads – Volume 18

Here’s the latest instalment of Digital Marketing Reads, a roundup of some of the more interesting articles we’ve read lately in the digital marketing world.

Semrush acquires SEO training website Backlinko

If you’re not an SEO specialist or digital marketing expert, you might be thinking “huh?” when you read this headline. But our Mildura digital marketing agency is very excited about this news – and by extension, our clients should be as well.

Why? Well, our team relies on Semrush for all of our reporting needs. It’s the tool we use for keyword tracking, conducting site audits, and tracking backlinks. We love it because it helps us better serve our clients.

With their recent acquisition of Backlinko, an SEO training platform, we can expect Semrush to continue building their training hub, Semrush Academy. This equates to more knowledge for our SEO experts to gain, and therefore more knowledge for us to share with you and apply to your website optimisation. Win-win!

Yoast SEO launches on Shopify

More news that our Mildura web design team is thrilled about! Yoast is our favorite SEO plugin for wordpress, and it’s a plugin we install on our client websites whenever possible. It makes our SEO and online marketing tasks significantly easier and quicker to complete, and we also love how easy it is to use if you’re someone who doesn’t know a whole lot about web design or SEO.

With this news, Yoast is now available for Shopify sites, which means you can now more easily optimise your storefront and products so that they’re more easily found on Google (which = more sales). Note that unlike the wordpress plugin which is free, Yoast for Shopify costs $29 for 30 days, so it’s definitely something you’ll want to factor into your monthly business budget. There’s a 14 day free trial so you can try it out first.
